Mission

The Columbus Film Society's mission is to promote and enhance the understanding and enjoyment of film in the Columbus, GA area and foster a growing social network of film enthusiasts.

The main venue for this is through a service of Carmike Cinemas in association with The Columbus Film Society that brings a different critically-acclaimed film to Columbus each week. The films are shown at The Screening Room at Carmike's Peachtree 8 Cinema (3131 Manchester Expressway) and feature a diverse selection of foreign and independent film. The films run for one week periods. Check the box office for current film show times. Tickets are $6 ($5 matinee).

In addition to weekly films at the Screening Room, the Columbus Film Society also partners with other educational and cultural institutions to bring the art of film to the greater Columbus community. By supporting film screenings, related events and programs at other venues such as the Columbus Public Library and The Columbus Museum, we hope to foster a vibrant social network of film enthusiasts who enjoy the intellectual challenges and creative insights derived from our programs.

Based in Columbus, GA, the Columbus Film Society is a non-profit organization consisting of a board and membership.
